So, we're getting ready for orthodontics at our house! The kids had a choice: vacation, or braces. They both jumped for braces ... at an alarming speed. I guess it's important to them. Anyway, they are getting braces at the end of April.
In preparation, we had a frenectomy for Dauzha. She has a diastema (fancy word for gap between teeth) which will be corrected by the braces, but may relapse if the connective tissue is not removed. So we removed it!

Four sutures. Yes, her nails are painted green!

Flowers always promote healing ;)
She's healing quickly and feeling only a little sore.
It was so nice to have her come to my office for this procedure. I know we always treat kids right, so it was nice to share it with my family :) Dr. Charlie did a great job of calming both patient, and Mom! We were both a little nervous. He does amazing work and is so friendly, too.

I suspect that may be part of the reason the gap between my front teeth came back. :P now I'm looking at possibly having braces again as a 30 year old!
Congratulations to you both for displaying courage in the face of anxiety-producing "procedures"!!! Best wishes for continued success to our dazzling Dauzha. What a tender and swwet Mom she has to give her flowers :D
